National catalogue puts Richard's work in context
Art UK documents more than 300,000 artworks held by UK public art collections. Over 50,000 artists are represented.
We knew that their catalogue included over 100 of Richard's works, but we have only recently discovered that many of the listed paintings are also included in the Curations and Stories sections on their extensive site.
Curations shows groups of works chosen and reviewed by art professionals and by members of the public. At the moment twenty five of the curations include at least one work by Richard!
Stories includes a wide range of essays and interviews about art and artists. Richard is the main subject in one story, has a painting included in another and is mentioned in another.
Each of these curations adds to our understanding of Richard's work by placing him in different contexts, so we have now added links from the relevant work pages on our site to where the painting or drawing appears in the Art UK Curations and Stories selections. For example, if you go to Figurehead (1931) and look at the References section at the bottom of the page you will see that it appears in two of the curations.
Anyone can curate their own selections from the Art UK site and choose to either publish them on Art UK or keep them private. You can find the link to Curations in the Discover section of the Art UK site. The very clear help page will get you going.

All of Richard's works in public collections in the UK plus other countries are listed on our site here.
This work is in a fascinating Art UK curated set titled The significance of rainbows in art, a very appropriate choice since the rainbow motif appears in many Eurichs. Great to see this unusual rainbow in grey was picked from The Ingram Collection of Modern British and Contemporary Art.
