Eurich painting included in new book.
Suzanne Bardgett had a long career at Imperial War Museums where she was Head of Research and Academic Partnerships from 2010 to 2023. She is now writing as a freelance for the Publishing section of IWM.
Her latest book, 'The Air War in Paintings' draws on the IWM’s art collection, commissioned by the War Artists Advisory Committee (WAAC). Nearly 90 paintings feature in the book including Richard's Air Fight Over Portland (1940). By writing the background story to each painting and saying something about each artist, the story of the air war unfolds in fascinating detail.
Suzanne refered to this site and consulted Richard's daughters while writing the book. She said, "... congratulations on the website which is a wonderful tribute and I am sure a much-valued resource for art historians."
