Portrait of a Friend (Charles Prior Lovelock)

We think this work is the painting Richard mentions in his memoir when he was just beginning to practise painting portraits. It is of his friend Charles Lovelock known by his middle name 'Prior'.

Prior and his wife Queenie were enthusiastic patrons to Richard. They bought several early works.
