According to the catalogue of the 1979 RA summer exhibition, the only still life among the six paintings Richard submitted was titled 'Candlestick and Shell'. According to Richard's sales diary all six of the paintings sold.  He listed a still life among them but described it as 'Still life with glass and spoon'. We will not be able to explain this puzzle until we find the painting or perhaps paintings.
