The London Group - 25th exhibition

RWS Gallery, 5a Pall Mall East, London

In his memoir Richard recalls "I started exhibiting in London while I was still a student, and actually had a painting hung in the London Group." He is most likely referring to this exhibiton.

Richard also had works selected for the 26th exhibition London Group exhibition in January 1929 and others in London Group exhibitions in 1931 and 1933 which we have no details of yet..

The London Group was formed in 1913 by an amalgamation of the Camden Town Group and the English Cubists (later Vorticists). They were dedicated to promoting the work of their members and to showing work by new artists through open shows where members and selected young artists exhibited together, hence Richard's inclusion. The Group are still very active today with about 100 members.
