Plums

These plums are not Victoria plums but ones which pebble-like might stop up the mouth and produce a plummy voice, mayhap. From almost black through purple blush and red-orange hues they lean towards a window stage left. A white cloth drawn back to uncover this little gathering of fruit what else disclose? The face beneath has a doleful eye and might seem a giant playing card. Is it the card which has grown or the plums which have diminished?
