According to RE's sales diary, a private collector, Edward Craven, bought a work titled 'Rabbits' and another titled The Cat and Mouse together early in 1930. Both had been in the Goupil show but Richard does not use his usual phrase 'from Goupil' to indicate the sale was made through the gallery. In 2001 'The Cat and the Mouse' came up for auction along with a work titled Rabbiting by the River. This seems to point to 'Rabbits' and 'Rabbiting by the River' perhaps being the same work.
