One of the owners of this painting has identified the building as Dorset House, formerly Gibraltar Lodge, at the junction of Pound Road and Silver Street in Lyme Regis. The building beyond is now The Mariner's Hotel (part of which was once known as The Red House). By 1934, the house became The Dorset Hotel but RE has amended the building's design slightly in this composition.
