Richard had several paintings accepted to represent Great Britain at the annual 'International Exhibition of Paintings' organised by the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, USA. The exhibition series continues today in a different format as the 'Carnegie International'. It is the longest-running North American exhibition of international contemporary art.
