Surprise Find in the Royal Collection!

Eurich drawing given by the Royal Academy to the Queen to mark her Silver Jubilee.

As more art collections are digitised and published online, there is a good chance than some of the hundreds of Eurichs we have yet to find will emerge. One has just come to light during our regular checks, one we had no record of at all. It is a delicate pencil drawing that seems to have been commissioned by the Royal Academy as a gift to the Queen to mark her Silver Jubilee in 1977. It depicts the iconic QE2 coming into the Solent round the Isle of Wight, another one of Richard's classic views from Lepe Beach.

The Royal Collection didn't have an image of it so they have sent us a quick snap for now. They are kindly going to take a better photo for us when they are back to full strength after the Covid situation eases. We are looking forward to zooming in and having a look at what is happening on the busy beach.

[Update: The better quality picture is now in place.]
