It shows a woman standing holding a musical instrument in the lute family. The instrument has been identified as a theobo. The music on the book shelves has identifiable text on the spines and includes: Top Shelf: Thomas Mace, Christopher Simson Middle Shelf: Downland, Robert Jones, John Daniel, Ford, Corkine, Pilkington, Grove Bottom Shelf: Lassus, Bull, Byrde, Gibbons, Welkes, Purcell (King Arthur), Wilbye, Parthenia, Blow, Greene Croft. The picture on the wall is of John Downland 1563 - 1626.
