The Singer

1930

This would be one of his first forays into painting again after his 1st solo show of drawings at the end of 1929. There is a certain similarity of vision in the attention to detail and the obviously imaginary figure. He has taken great pleasure in the detail of the chair and carpet and the mirror which reflects a window out onto some roofs behind the viewer gives a sense of depth. Is that a portrait of Mozart on the wall?
