Road Clear

1978

We have all seen a road like this disappearing over a hill with nothing beyond but the open sea! This is probably a mixture of several such places perhaps prompted by a recent experience but inevitably leading as ever to an exploration of composition, paint and tone values. I’m aware of the technical skills used, but the effect is so much more than the result of employing them. Words as usual fail but it is enough to say that it is a visionary experience.
