England Hampshire The New Forest The South abstract shade strong brush strokes sunshine trees yellowThis lovely painting has an element of homage to his early influence, John Sell Cotman. You can feel there is a path leading into the dark trees right of centre and the glow of the autumnal sunshine on the other side of this little wood ‘pulls’ the viewer through.
Part of the 'greenery' series of paintings done through the 80s.
