"A Fairy Tale" was bought from the Goupil Gallery show by Sir Michael Sadler along with The Three Ages, Clowns by the Sea,  Lady with a Lute and The Family. Richard received £35 for the lot, according to his sales diary.

It seems Sadler also bought The Pool in the Wood, as he gifted it to The Cooper Gallery in 1933.
