Tunny Fishing, Whitby

1933

It turns out that "Fishing Boats, Whitby" [Cat 20] was much smaller than the work on this page, so that title it is now attributed to a separate work. In addition, when we read the interesting background notes from the Tennant's auction about the painting marking the landing of the UK's largest tunny fish and added the fact that the painting's dimensions matched those of a work sold in 1934, we realised that the original title of this work is "Tunny Fishing, Whitby"!

We have no record of "Tunny Fishing, Whitby" being shown in an exhibition.
