England Hampshire The Solent The South Isle of Wight bad cloud downpour sail boats weatherThis might be a companion piece to Snow in the Solent from the same year. In both pictures, the weather seems to take the form of an alien creature moving in over the water. The dinghies look incredibly fragile in front of this weight of driven ice about to descend on them. The sea, and the sky behind the hail curtain are completely placid and unruffled.
