Another work from the 1945 Paintings for Children exhibition at the Redfern that ended up where Richard had hoped it might - pleasing children, as this note confirms in some correspondence from the family who still have it:
. . . a small seascape of a lifeboat going out in the dark to rescue a sinking ship, hung in my sister's and my nursery when we were small children in the late 1940s
