Verso: Redfern Gallery label which confirms the title, purchaser and purchase date from the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Arts Council of Great Britain label with details of the Marine Paintings exhibition, Cat. no. 48, artist, Title, and owner who it was loaned from.

In 1960 Richard and his family had a holiday in Lytham St. Annes, not far from Fleetwood.

Richard has painted the name of the boat on the left on the stern - DAWN WATERS, Fleetwood. A ship of that name is recorded as sailing out of Fleetwood in the 1960s here.
