Richard painted three versions depicting the sea breach of Chesil Beach in 1979: Breakthrough, Chesil Beach Portland (1978-79), Break Through, Chesil Beach (1980-81) and Breakthrough, Chesil Beach (1981). Stranded Boat (1981) probably records the breakthrough too.
