England Hampshire Lepe Beach The South beach calm daughter groynes mother sea ships walking women woman female

This, apart from the 1960 sketch, is one of the earliest of all the many Lepe Beach paintings and drawings. It is small but jewel-like and the sea is luminescent. It is interesting that though only suggested, the figures are unmistakably me and Mum! The postures are typical. I love the textures in the beach with the occasional scratchings from the wrong end of the brush.
