Dear Philippa

. . . I absolutely adore your father’s work and your website brings me so much joy as I see paintings new to me.  I suppose I only really knew his war paintings in the IWM and they struck a cord as they tell a story.

I went to Bonhams the day I bid for it with a friend who was interested in a work by another artist.  I saw the painting in a cabinet and loved it, probably more for the fact that it was by Richard Eurich.
