England Hampshire Lepe Beach The Solent The South coats crowd dresses femaile girl group hats man pebbles race sail sailing boat sailing dinghies shingle beach spectators spinnaker watching windy women woman femaleI love this picture! It is bursting with energy and the experience of an artist in his late 70s knowing exactly how this sort of painting should be done. It is viewed from an unusually low point so although the people’s heads are roughly the same height, their feet are at different levels on the shingle. The figures on the beach tend to share the same warm reddish colours except for the bizarre character on the right…. a woman with a pointed pompom hat, or a clown figure?
