Solent Horizon

1981

Dad experimented with panorama paintings from time to time. The sea’s horizon begs for this sort of treatment. The spit that runs across the middle of the sea here is a phenomenon that occurs at low tide every day at Lepe Beach. Here, he has made it into a vivid orange stripe electrifying the blue sea and echoed by the shipping on the horizon. Indeed, a picture bordering on the abstract.
