This is one of Dad’s ‘empty’ pictures bordering on the abstract with its muted bands of sky, sea and beach. It’s not until you examine the horizon that you realise how much is going on between the Needles and Hurst Castle lighthouse… apparently quite a flotilla of sails. Or is some of it just a stirring-up of paint?! There are no clean lines of separation here.
